Architecting the Future
On June 3rd, 2010 the Buckminster Fuller Institute hosted a day-long symposium featuring presentations by all 2010 finalists, keynote addresses by Dr. Michael Ben-Eli and Juror Hardin Tibbs, a project update and demonstration by 2009 Winner 'Mobility on Demand', breakout sessions with finalist, jurors, advisers, and attendees, as well presentations by the following semi-finalist projects: Sustainable Disaster Response, Resources, and The Green Island Project.
Other programming at AU included the installation of the GeoDome and Aboard Spaceship Earth educational program, as well as a tour of the new School of International Service building by lead architect Kevin Burke of William McDonough + Partners and Deans Joseph Clapper and Louis Goodman.
