EST Spheromak Clean Energy

We will replace fossil fuels with a clean energy source for each home, vehicle, and building using our EST Spheromak (ESTS) technology. The ESTS will improve a known energy process to produce clean, low-cost energy in a small appliance for homes, and in engine-sized units for cars and vehicles.

Describe the critical need your solution addresses.

A clean energy replacement for fossil fuel energy is a critical need in order to eliminate carbon dioxide and other pollutants from power plants and vehicles, thereby reducing human impact on the environment. It will also reduce oil demand to help eliminate world tensions over energy supplies.

Explain your initiative in more depth and its stage of development.

To replace fossil fuels, we will use a new discovery: the self-organized Electron Spiral Toroid Spheromak (ESTS). It is a plasma toroid (donut shape) consisting only of ions and electrons. It remains stable with no external magnetic field containment; a breakthrough. This discovery and data have been independently confirmed as described below.

To picture the ESTS, think of the Slinky, the child’s toy, held end to end to form a toroid. All charged particles follow the “Slinky” coil path, and all particles reside in the thin surface. This configuration creates an extremely high plasma density in the surface.

The high density ESTS will improve the TRISOPS energy process which demonstrated in the 1980’s that colliding two spheromaks will produce fusion energy. The low plasma density of TRISOPS spheromaks limited their energy output, and the high density ESTS will overcome this limitation. TRISOPS used the deuterium fusion process, and the ESTS will instead use the clean boron/proton (BP) fusion process.

We make small ESTSs in the lab today. We are working to scale up our lab work to develop a lab demonstration of clean energy production.

How does your strategy and approach respond creatively and comprehensively to key issues?

Clean ESTS energy will replace fossil fuels by enabling each home and building to become energy self-sufficient by producing its own clean energy, thereby eliminating their energy usage carbon footprint. Each car and vehicle will have its own clean ESTS energy source, replacing gasoline with BP fuel. A pint of BP fuel will power a car for more than a year.

Clean ESTS energy will respond to a key social goal of reducing human caused pollution and climate change since home heating and home electricity will be carbon neutral and will be removed from the climate change equation. Also, cars will not use fossil fuels.

Clean ESTS energy will have a profoundly positive economic impact on people throughout the world since they will be able to produce clean energy at significantly less cost than with fossil fuels.

The strategy of locally producing green energy is a preferred state model for many reasons; chief among them is the potential ecological benefit from eliminating the use of fossil fuels for powering cars and heating homes. It will also reduce the need for new power plants and new power lines.
