StarSpace Structures: Controlled Living Environments
This project is intended to evolve the design concepts of R. Buckminster Fuller, into a practical and realizable production capability by the North American Operations (NAO) Automobile Industry - General Motors (GM), Ford and Chrysler Corporations. Redesigning the Fly’s Eye Dome structure to evolve into a suitable living environment for housing humanity could easily be accommodated by the current automotive design engineers. The automobile industry designs its vehicles upon a space-frame
Describe the critical need your solution addresses.
I have written letters to the CEO’s of General Motors Corporation, Ford Motor Company, and Chrysler Corporation, the United Auto Workers (UAW) President, two US Senators, and one US House Representative in July 2008.
On October 1st, 2008, I met and spoke to Mr. Troy A. Clarke, GM President of North American Operations and Group Vice-President of GM Operations. I provided information in writing to Clarke regarding the proposal of creating a new Housing Industry in America.
I intend to continue communicating by letter to my political representatives and Industrial Leaders for a new Housing Industry in America. Whenever possible I will attend lectures by any individual or group that will either provide information or assist in moving this industry forward.
Explain your initiative in more depth and its stage of development.
This project is comprehensive in that it provides a new industry for the USA, jobs and sustainable economic growth to a world economy currently in crisis. It is anticipatory since materials deteriorate over time and will recycle back into the industry creating new job growth and better products. This means that the industry is ecologically responsible with the return of materials and continued job replenishment for future generations of workers. It is feasible since the need currently exists for housing humanity and creating new jobs. The current economic crisis will prove beneficial in providing the funding to the North American Automobile industry to jump-start this new housing industry.
This industry can produce a replicable housing unit that will be designed and prototyped in the USA for a variety of environmental conditions. The industry will then lease the design to other factories globally for local production wherever needed.
