SyRF Systems, The Synergetic Redesigning of FITness
The purpose of SyRF Systems, The Synergetic Redesigning of FITness is to be the new model that replaces the old models (RBF) and become the Operating Manual that leads people to integrity, leadership, compassion, creative problem-solving and to success. “If we want a better world, we need better people.” Sun Bear. It is a breakthrough in that it takes lessons from Bucky’s synergetics and Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science and then goes beyond Bucky. Bucky was convinced that the way to
Describe the critical need your solution addresses.
Presently we have completed 8 years of research on the effects of SyRF Systems on males and females from age 12-80 in a variety of countries around the world. The research shows measureable improvement in physical and metaphysical strength, focus and creative problem-solving abilities in all age groups.
The SyRF Dymaxion Bar has gone through the prototype stage and has now been manufactured in a variety of sizes and weights to accommodate the complete beginner to the most advanced athlete. The 4 components of SyRF Systems have been organized into a complete system and the text and instruction manual have been published. The prize money will be used to move the project forward over the next three years:
Year 1-3:
• Recruit and train 100 SyRF Trainers to the top Level 3-Certified SyRF Systems Trainer category, per year, for 3 years.
• Supply the trainers with the gear and all material necessary to start teaching the program and training others. (goal: each trainer will train 100 individuals each year. By the end of Year 1: 10,000 SyRF Systems participants. By the end of Year 3: 30,000 participants around the world)
• Begin discussion with the International Baccalaureate (IB)to bring SyRF Systems into their curriculum at the Primary, Middle and High School levels. There are more than 665,000 IB students at 2,425 schools in 131 countries.
• Develop curriculum material for the Primary, Middle and High School levels to integrate SyRF Systems into the classroom. One level per year. By Year 3 a pilot project will be in place in each level.
Explain your initiative in more depth and its stage of development.
SyRF Systems is comprehensive and anticipatory in that it integrates and creates a synergy between the East and West. It maximizes the integration of body, mind and spirit while using the most advanced and complex piece of technology ever created (the human body and mind) with a simple but effective, original artifact and innovative dymaxion-inspired techniques.
SyRF Systems is ecologically responsible as it is a simple, low-tech program that results in a complex, high-tech solution to our problems. The program is efficient, proficient, economic and synergetic.
SyRF Systems is feasible, verifiable and replicable. It is already being used at very low cost with hundreds of students and teachers around the world using simple, inexpensive and readily available technology and existing resources. The research, including anecdotal written reflections as well as hard quantitative data, all verify the efficiency of the program. Inherent in SyRF Systems is its self-evolving nature.
How does your strategy and approach respond creatively and comprehensively to key issues?
I created SyRF Systems 10 years ago in response to my need for exercise and stress relief after a serious injury and subsequent back surgery. The program evolved through my experience with the martial arts, yoga, acupuncture and Taoist philosophy combined with my Western physiology, anatomy and biochemistry degrees; the most ancient science from the East integrated with the most recent science from the West. Presently I have a team of experts in their fields that have joined me in the development, promotion and marketing of the program. SyRF Systems has received tremendous support from students and teachers around the world. It is being used as a model for problem-solving in integrated science programs at some of the top schools in the world and for conflict resolution and global education in primary schools. We have already begun and will be pursuing the implementation of SyRF Systems with energy and commitment but the recognition from BFI would be the impetus and credibility we need to introduce this to more people around the world in a much more efficient and timely way. And with the world problems being what they are, time is of the essence.
